Our Telecare service helps people to remain safely and happily for longer in their own home. For families we can take away a lot of worry and anxiety felt when they leave a loved one at home.

In addition to the pendant or wrist strap, we offer a range of detectors to help keep you safe at home.  The equipment can sense risks such as smoke, floods, gas and if you have left a saucepan on the hob.  It sends a message through to our Telecare team who can help you with the problem before it becomes serious.

We also have a range of wireless sensors to help people who are forgetful or prone to falls

You will need an alarm unit and pendant to work alongside your sensors and detectors, and an agreement with us to monitor the equipment.

In addition to the detector rental, 56p each week is payable for the monitoring of other sensors that work with your alarm unit.  This is regardless of the number of sensors you have.

VAT is payable on sensors and detectors (except the fall detector), even if you’re registered disabled.  Prices include any VAT payable.

Our alarm unit is a simple piece of equipment that works alongside your own telephone.  It is sent to you pre-programmed and is easy to use and install.  It has a range of 50m and dials through to our telecare team if a button, sensor or detector is triggered.

Smoke detector    
To rent:  £5.66 per month

Sounds to alert your household when smoke is detected and signals to our Telecare team who will contact the Fire service on your behalf.

Carbon monoxide detector
To rent:    £11.23 per month

Sounds to alert your household when it detects carbon monoxide and signals to our telecare team who will contact Transco on your behalf to check your gas appliances.

Flood detector        
To rent:  £9.52 per month   

Detects droplets of water giving early warning of potential floods. Can be placed near sinks, baths and toilets.  Sounds an alarm and signals to our telecare team who will take appropriate action.  Can also be used for home protection.

Fall detector        
To rent:  £10.45, or £8.71 if VAT exempt, per month

Detects impact of a fall signalling to our Telecare team.  Ideal if you‘re frail or suffer from epilepsy.

Temperature extreme sensor

Detects extreme rise or fall of temperature, often due to forgotten saucepan on the hob etc. sounds alarm and signals to our telecare team who will take appropriate action.

Keysafe   (Alarm unit not required – can be rented separately)

A safe and simple way to provide access to your home anytime day or night.  It is attached discreetly to an outside wall of your home, securely storing your door key.

Ensures alarm calls are raised even if the telephone line is in use. It allows the alarm unit to seize the phone line from other connected devices on the same line (i.e. extension phone, computer, fax machine, satellite receiver etc).
