Getting started - what will I need?

It’s easy.  You will need -

• Essential starter pack

  alarm unit and pendant
  keysafe
  monitoring service for the first year

• keyholders.  People you know who would be willing to be contacted if you needed any assistance.
• electric socket within two metres of a working BT or similar telephone line
• agreement with us to monitor your alarm

A keysafe is a secure and simple way to provide reliable access to your home anytime day or night.  It is attached securely and discreetly to an outside wall of your home.

The alarm unit is easy to install yourself, or we can arrange for one of our friendly installation team to do it for you.

Additonal sensors and detectors

For a small weekly charge we provide a number of additional sensors that link through to the same alarm unit.  If triggered they automatically call our 24 hour telecare team who will take the appropriate action.

An extra 56p per week is also payable for the additional monitoring regardless of the number of sensors you have.

Smoke detector: sounds to alert your household when it detects smoke and also calls through to our telecare team who will contact the Fire service on your behalf. 

Carbon monoxide detector: sounds to alert your household when it detects carbon monoxide and also calls through to our telecare team who will contact Transco on your behalf to check your gas appliances.

Flood detector:  detects droplets of water giving early warning of potential floods, can be placed near sinks, baths and toilets.  Sounds alarm and calls through to our telecare team.

Temperature extreme sensor:  detects extreme rise or fall of temperature, often due to a forgotten boiling saucepan etc.

Fall detector: detects impact of a fall signalling through to our team. Ideal if you are frail or suffer from epilepsy and blackouts.

Bogus caller button: wall mounted by a doorway, when pressed you can speak to our team who will help you to deal with the caller.

Please note that VAT is payable on most sensors and detectors, even if you are entitled to and apply for relief on VAT.
