Our Lone Worker service is designed to protect staff when they are most vulnerable. Typical
examples include isolated staff, staff entering dangerous places and staff involved in volatile
situations.
Users dial into our system, typically from their mobile phone, and are prompted to log on. They
are asked to input the duration of the visit or task, or the specific time they will finish, via
their telephone keypad. They are then asked to record a message. When the visit or task is
completed, or if the job is overrunning, the user dials into the system again and is offered the
option to cancel the current job or to extend it. The previously recorded timed message is then
cancelled or extended.
If a user does not extend or cancel the message by the designated time, an alert is instantly
raised with our 24 hour Monitoring Centre, where the user's details are displayed and their last
message is played. Appropriate action can then be taken.
Our system also provides for a panic alarm. An emergency distress warning will be activated
automatically before the expiry of the pre-set time if our system is called but no password, or an
incorrect one, is entered.
